Judy was born on December 10th, 1942 in Green Bay, WI and grew up there with her parents, Edward & Genevieve Holzer, and siblings Joe, Jean, and Jeff, and enjoyed playing touch football, softball, tennis, and swimming. She especially liked playing touch football where she could beat most of the boys, and has enjoyed the honor of being the family ping pong champion.
Judy met her husband Allan Lane in 1961 in Green Bay. They married on August 7th, 1965. Judy and Al lived in Milwaukee, WI, then moved to the Chicago area where they lived in the suburbs until moving to Sanibel in 2000. Judy and Al had been married for 56 years until Judy’s death.
Judy graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1961. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree from University of Wisconsin Madison in 1965. She began teaching in 1965 in Milwaukee, WI, and taught off and on until retiring in 1999. She was also a travel agent for several years. Judy loved travel, tennis, archeology, and Native American culture. She also loved the Green Bay Packers and, of course, wine!
Judy is survived by her husband, Allan Lane; two children, Kristin Lane & Jeffrey Lane; three siblings, Joseph (& Claudia) Holzer, Jean (& Larry) Peterson, & Jeffrey Holzer; two nieces, Brittany Peterson & Ariel Swanson; and two nephews, Daniel Holzer & David Holzer.
