Kenneth Michael Jakubowicz

Kenneth Michael Jakubowicz, 74, passed away, Tuesday, June 20, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peg); sons, William (Kelly), Andrew (Alya); brother, Frederick and 5 grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Michael A. Jakubowicz and Helen (Kolodziej) Jakubowicz and a brother, James.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, June 23, 2023 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 12171 Iona Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33908. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 – 11 AM with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 AM.

Ken was born in East Chicago, Indiana. He attended Bishop Noll Institute for high school. In 1968, Ken was drafted into the US Army. He was stationed in Germany and was discharged in 1970.

Ken attended undergraduate school at Purdue University, Calumet Campus. It was there that he met his future wife, Margaret. He introduced himself as “Jako” inviting her to a party at his home, known as the “Polish Ponderosa”. He was forever known by that name by his loving wife, Peg.

Ken was the Director of Purchasing for Arcelor Mittel Steel. He retired after over 40 years in the industry. After retirement, he and Peg, became permanent residents in Fort Myers, Florida.
