Martin G. Shapiro

June 12, 1941 – July 11, 2025

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Martin (Marty) G. Shapiro, a devoted husband, loving father and adored grandfather. Marty passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, July 11, in Fort Myers, Florida surrounded by his loving family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Hyman and Mildred Shapiro; brother Alan Shapiro; first wife, Carol Resnick Shapiro and brother-in-law Paul Burke.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Nancy Shapiro; his children: Julie (Jay) Arzonico, Melissa (Brad) Allen, Rachel (Dave) Herwood, David (Ryan) Shapiro and 8 cherished grandchildren: Marley and William Arzonico, Sarah and Audrey Allen, Conner and Charley Herwood and Hunter and Logan Shapiro.

He is also survived by his loving sister Beth Shapiro, sister-in-law Harriet Burke, brother-in-law Ronald Resnick (Iris), and many nieces and nephews: Michael Burke, Molly Burke, Nick Gilbert, Matthew Resnick, Lauren Colon and Stefanie Armstrong.

Shiva is being observed at 12324 Jewel Stone Lane, Fort Myers through Tuesday, July 15. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Penn State Nittany Lion Club – Levi Lamb Fund or the Cleveland Clinic.

He will be deeply missed by all.
