Mary Rose Porter

Mary Rose Porter, age 83, of North Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025. Born on February 2, 1942, Mary dedicated her life to her family and later found great joy in teaching mentally challenged children.

Mary was the beloved wife of Francis Porter and a loving mother to Steven Porter (spouse Celia). She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Porter, and her daughter, Leah Sovocool. Mary was a cherished grandmother to Nicholas Porter (spouse Brittiney), Cecilia Porter (partner Austin Binks), Amanda Flint (Jimmy), Michael Porter (Katy), Joshua Sovocool, and Jessy Sovocool and her great grandchildren: Shyla Rae Flint, Axle Binks and Tommy Binks, and step-great grandchild, Aubrey Penfield. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Josephine Kasarda.

Beyond her devotion to her family and her work, Mary was an avid and accomplished photographer with a deep passion for wildlife. Her keen eye and artistic talent led her to capture stunning images of nature, earning her numerous awards for her exceptional wildlife photographs.

A graveside service to celebrate Mary's life will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 AM at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery located at 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913. The family would like to thank you for your love and support during this time.
