Mary Ellen Stewart

Mary Ellen Stewart, age 65, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Sunday December 15, 2019. Mary was born December 30, 1953 in Pensacola, Florida the daughter of Audrey & Kenneth Carroll Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents Audrey & Kenneth; and her brother Kenneth Carroll Jr.

Mary was a LPN for over 45 years where she spent a large portion of her career dedicated to the hospital's medical & surgical departments. Mary had a wealth of knowledge on various medical procedures and she was the nurse that other nurses counted on. Mary was of great assistance to all of her nursing colleagues- most of which came to her when seeking guidance. In addition Mary was "the" patient advocate and always placed her patients first. Most recently she had been working in assisted living where she was loved dearly by all of her patients, families and coworkers.

Mary is survived by her loving husband William Stewart; children Matthew Kulwicki, Lisa Stewart, Bethany Herrick, and Michael Stewart; grandchildren Alec Kulwicki, Olivia Kulwicki, Liam Stewart, Jenna Kulwicki, Kylee Herrick, Hunter Stewart, Kaitlyn Kulwicki, Lucas Graf, and Sebastian Graf; sisters Patricia Tarnow, and Kathryn Olmstead; brother Edward Carroll; and numerous nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913. The family will receive guests at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM.
