Mary Zimmerman of Fort Myers passed away on May 8, 2026. She was born in Poland on September 11, 1957. She graduated from Hunter College in NYC. She was married to Hyman Zimmerman on September 8, 1986. Mary retired from Auto-Owners Insurance. Prior to that, she was employed by Suntrust Bank and the New York City Board of Education.
Mary is survived by her husband: Hyman Zimmerman; step-children: Howard and Jeffrey (Helene); grandson, Justin; mother, Ludwika Kulig; sisters: Antoinette (Donald), Stacey, Jeannie (Glenn), Halina (Darion) and Liz (Doug); nephews and nieces: Donald Clark, Michael Clark, Samantha (Edbin) Coggins, Alison (Bryan) Johns, Donald A. Salvato and great nephew: Theo Gonzalez-Coggins. She was preceded in death by her father, Stanislaw Kulig (March 23, 2022) and her brother, John Kulig (August 8, 2017).
Visitation will be held at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers, FL from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral mass at 10:00 am on Friday, May 15, 2026. Entombment will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
