Michael A. Kenney

Michael A. Kenney, age 72, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023. Michael was born September 2, 1950 in Cumberland, Maryland, the only child of John Joseph and Margaret Lee Kenney.

Mike is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cheryl; son, Sean Kenney and wife Nicole; daughter, Erin Schmidt; grandchildren, Stella Schmidt, Norah Schmidt, Tyson Kenney, Ethan Kenney, Nolan Kenney and Kameryn Kenney.

Mike moved to Detroit, Michigan and began to work for Grand Trunk Western Railroad as Assistant Manager of Data Services. He worked there for 20 years and became the Director of Computer Systems. In 1980 he was married to Cheryl Whitbeck. He worked for Amtrak Railroad where he retired as a Conductor. Mike had 30 years of railroad service.

In 2015, he moved to Fort Myers, Florida to retire in the Florida sun. Mike’s favorite past time was fishing. His most notable qualities were his loyalty, a great sense of humor and was a devoted family man.
