Affectionately known to many as “Tommy”, he was born in the Lacovia Parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica on August 28, 1927. His parents were Rosita “Julie” Green and Sydney Tomlinson. Tommy was the first born of seven children, 2 girls and 5 boys.
As a young man Tommy worked with Del Labs, Beck Arnely and the City of Fort Myers. Tommy married Daisy Taylor in 1987. They settled in Florida and enjoyed married life, traveling the world together until her passing in 2007. Between 1987-1994 he and Daisy planted and established the New Apostolic Church in Lehigh Acres, FL. Tommy served the Lord as a priest, ministering and preaching the Good News of Christ. What began as a small group of two, meeting in their living room, would grow into a beloved congregation. The Lehigh congregation later merged together with the Fort Myers congregation.
Tommy presented himself as a serious man. Well dressed and articulate, he was straightforward in his manner and not afraid to speak his mind. Tommy loved life and people. He especially loved his four children – Michael, Sandra, Patrick and Therese, as well as his grand and great-grandchildren, whom he spoke of often.
Tommy is survived by his sister Enid Lawrence, two sons Michael and Patrick and two daughters Sandra and Therese. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Chantel, Samuel, Jonathan, Tanisha, Patrick, Shanica, Zaria, Randall, Anya and 3 great-grandchildren: Ethan, Arien and Ashlynn. There is also a host of loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends that carry on his memory.
