

Pearl Josephine Christopher passed away peacefully in the presence of her loved ones in her Fort Myers, Florida home on September 5, 2025, at the age of 98. Pearl was born in Gardiner, Maine on August 22, 1927, the daughter of Frederick Bailey and Frances Brewer Bailey.
She spent her childhood in Chelsea, Maine, eventually returning to Gardiner where she worked at Healthtex for many years before her retirement. After retirement, she relocated to Portland, Maine where she lived for 25 years before moving to Fort Myers.
Pearl was predeceased by her sons Dennis Guimond and Victor Baillargeon, daughter Darlene Guimond, and brothers Gerald, Lawrence, Rodney, and Glenwood Bailey. She is survived by her daughter Linda Haskell and son Vern Baillargeon, both of Fort Myers, Florida. She leaves her two grandsons, George Arthur Jr. of South Portland, Maine and Brandon Lund of Winslow, Maine. Pearl also leaves two great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
During her working years, Pearl was known as a dedicated and hard worker as well as a good provider for her five children. She had many friends from work, playing on softball and bowling teams, once winning a trophy for highest individual bowling score. While working full time at Healthtex, she also ran a successful business as an Avon representative.
Pearl led an active and busy life while working yet was able to enjoy many years of retirement. Her passions and hobbies were many. When not attending to her numerous perennial gardens, she loved crafting, particularly sewing and crocheting. Pearl was gifted with a crochet hook, creating elaborate and beautiful designs without patterns. She also enjoyed baking, doing crosswords, making jewelry, and her Saturday shopping trips with her best friend Connie. She was an avid collector of Fenton glass, and Hummel figurines which were always on display in her homes.
In her later years, she enjoyed her life in her condominium at Myerlee Gardens in Fort Myers. She was well known and liked by the Myerlee Gardens community. She enjoyed interacting with her neighbors and participating in organized activities, including displaying and selling her crafts.
At Pearl’s request, no memorial services will be held.
