Penny LaRue Yingling Hessler was born April 28, 1951 the daughter of Paul L. Yingling, M.D. & LaRue S. Yingling and had the privilege of her dad being the delivery doctor. Penny was raised in Ocean City, NJ and graduated from Ocean City High School in 1969. She also graduated from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA with an Associate of Arts Degree in 1971.
Upon graduation, Penny moved to Florida following a visit to her parents in Lehigh Acres and decided to stay. Penny was employed by First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Ft. Myers (First Federal) for over 20 years, rising to become the Assistant Vice President of the Loan Servicing Department. Following the acquisition of First Federal, Penny began a career with Medical Anesthesia and Pain Management Consultants where she was employed for another twenty years before retiring due to illness.
Penny passed away at Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton on November 21, 2019. Surviving Penny is her son, Shane Cameron Hessler of Cape Coral and her brother, Paul Yingling (wife Karen) of North Carolina.
Services for Penny were held at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, Tice Road, on November 24, 2019.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park.
