Reginald Godfrey Noble was born on March 28, 1927 in Belladrum, Guyana, South America, and passed away on September 15, 2024, 97 years old, in Lehigh Acres, FL. He was the second of sixteen children born to Naomi Ashby and John Noble. He was raised by his grandparents, Thomas and Levina Noble. He attended St. Albans Anglican Elementary School and later worked at Demerara Bauxite Company. He had three children born in Guyana, Desmond, Kay and Ann.
He moved to England in 1957, where he worked as a locomotive engineer for over ten years. He met and married Philomene Florence Noble and they had two children, Sandra and Reginald, Jr. The family migrated to New York in 1970 and Florence passed away in June, 1986. While in New York, he worked at the Maimonides Medical Center for over twenty-five years as a central supply technician. He met Juanita Robinson in New York in the late 1980s and moved to Lehigh Acres after retiring. Mr. Noble was one of eight founding members of the Cavaliers Domino Club in Lehigh Acres. He loved to play dominoes and stayed a loyal and faithful member for over twenty-two years. There were three things he looked forward to at the Domino club, besides playing domino: Counting the money in the six-love bottle; decorating the Christmas tree; and handing out the fruit basket to the oldest lady present on Mother's Day. He and Juanita were members of First Baptist Church of Lehigh. He was very active in Sunday School, a faithful member of the choir (sang tenor), a prayer warrior in the prayer group and attended any time there was karaoke. Reggie loved to sing. Reggie was also a person who attracted friends, steadfast, lifelong friends, including Mike and Ana Ferrer, co-workers from New York; Warren Ray, neighbor, and many others, who were there with him and for him throughout the years. He and Juanita were rarely apart. They went everywhere and did everything together, and they loved to travel, go on cruises, play dominos and bingo, sing and tell jokes. He also loved to work in his garden. In addition, everybody looked forward to Reggie’s birthday celebration every year. He was a very happy man who never complained, regardless of what was going on. As one of his friend’s stated: his name (Noble) described him well.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; children, Desmond, Ann, Sandra and Reginald, Jr.; brothers, Neville, Ovid, Barrington, Gofrey, Winston and Keith; sisters, Muriel, Cicely, Yvonne, Joyce, and Valerie; many cousins including Geraldine (Beth) Williams; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, a host of relative and friends in Canada, England, Guyana and the United States; and his brothers and sisters in Christ.
He is preceded in death by daughter, Kay; and brothers, Albert, Vibert, Desmond, and Malcolm.
