Robert Eugene Hamlin

1954-2021

Robert E Hamlin, 66, passed away suddenly on February 22, 2021. He was born on August 16, 1954 in Omaha Nebraska.

For 30 years he focused his career in international Management Consulting, banking, marketing and information technology for financial institutions. As industries and the world changed, Bob was never afraid to make bold steps advancing in new directions. His career took him many places around the world, but his true pride was in returning home to his loving family.

His career in finance shifted when he met and married his wife Cynthia. He pursued a degree in Law, and with a panache for higher learning and rigorous course studies he received his Law Degree from Ave Maria School of Law located in Naples FL.

With his beloved wife Cynthia, together, they began a family law practice. Side by side they worked together and created a formidable team helping many families in need of counsel. Bob had an immeasurable depth of understanding both within the legalities of the law and also within the structure of many unique family dynamics.

Bob was a true Christian whose faith and love in the Lord never waivered.

In all that he did, Bob was an ethical and principled man who spoke with an erudite and true voice. Bob was immensely generous, imparting his time, love and wisdom with kindness to all around him. Bob was passionate throughout his life for knowledge, his family, and good living.

Bob was an important part of his family who filled many different roles over the years. He was a loving husband, a role-model and virtuous father and good friend. Bob’s influence and legacy persists in the examples he set and the values he imparted to be carried on by his family.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Hamlin, Ft. Myers FL; Her daughters Lisa Rybak (Tom), Darcia Callaghan (Brian); his mother Carol Joan (Dahl) Hamlin, Naples FL; his sister Elizabeth Ann Hamlin, Los Angeles CA; his former wife Vera Bergermann, Ft. Myers FL; his children and his new granddaughter Elizabeth Mae Hamlin, Penang, Malaysia. With Ms. Bergermann he became a father to three very much loved children; Richard William Hamlin (Mei) Penang, Malaysia; Robert Trevor Hamlin, Ft. Myers FL, and Elisabeth Julia Hamlin, his only daughter who preceded him in death and is now reunited with her loving father. He was also preceded in death by his loving and dedicated father Richard E. Hamlin.

A family committal service will be held in the Resurrection Garden at the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs with Reverend Dr. Douglas Pratt officiating on February 28th at 2pm.
