Robert Hull passed peacefully on October 6, 2023 at the age of 86. He had fought hard against the ravages of age and Parkinson’s. His body just wore out.
Bob was born to Harry and Mary Hull in Decatur, IL, on May 26, 1937. He was the youngest of 5 children – Billie, Frank, Harry, Judy, and Robert. He married Susan Jaggi on August 16, 1969.
Bob never missed an opportunity for adventure and thrills. He flew airplanes, rode motorcycles, went to 49 states and Canada in the motorhome, loved to ski, made many friends in the Corvette Club, EAA and FMCA RV Chapters, followed Nascar, but above all, he loved his kitties. He moved to Lexington Country Club in Fort Myers, FL, after he retired, for the beach, biking, and bocce. Bob and Susan traveled on many trips and cruises with very special friends at Lexington.
He worked at A E Staley for 40 years. He always took pride in his work. Many saw his greatest contribution was being a Friend of Bill W for 52 years. He helped many achieve a life of sobriety and was always thankful for his sponsors who supported him. It changed his life.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Kevin (Nita); grandchildren, Brandi (Anthony), Ashley, Taylor and Austin (Alyssa). He was thrilled to recently meet his great-grandson, Vincent. He was the beloved Uncle Bob to many nieces and nephews.
Bob had a mischievous sense of humor, endless stories, and was always himself – foibles and all. Above all, he had learned the lesson – Live One Day At A Time.
As he wished, he has been cremated. At a later date, he will be buried in the family plot in Decatur.
He was a good man. I loved him and will miss him.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.kiserfh.com for the Hull family.
