

away at Hope Hospice in Lehigh, Fla., on Saturday, Oct. 7,
2017. He was 88 years old.
The son of Herschel Yoder and Gladys Logan, Robert (or
Bob, as he was often called) graduated from Hoover High
School in Flint, Mich., in 1946. After a brief stint with the
U.S. Marine Corps, from which he was honorably discharged,
he became a career employee of the U.S. Postal Service,
where he worked for 37 years, starting out as a letter carrier
and eventually transitioning into an executive capacity as the
Director of Labor Relations in Washington, DC.
A loving and devoted father, he leaves behind a daughter,
Michele (of Tampa, Fla.); five sons: Phillip (of Lockport, N.Y.),
Bradley (of Salt Lake City, Utah), Michael (of Hershey),
William (of Lehigh, Fla.), and Kirk (of Seattle, Wash.); 18
grandchildren: Tiffany, Todd, Kyle, Brian, Jason, Joseph,
Danielle, Matthew, Heather, Sarah, Bethany, Jennifer,
Megan, Thomas, Zachary, Isabel, Paige and Lyla; and a host
of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel Yoder
and Gladys Logan; his brother, Kenneth William Yoder; his
sister, Doris Yoder; his wife, Nancy Snyder of Bedford; his former
wife, Maxine Morse of Flint, Mich.; and his first son,
Robert Jr. of Flint, Mich.
His laughter, smile, and presence will be sorely missed by
all; he will forever live on in our hearts.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, at
11 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park
12777 State Road 82 Fort Myers, FL 33913. In lieu of flowers,
