Roberta passed away peacefully on April 1st at Gulf Coast Medical Center, in Fort Myers, FL with her daughter, Valarie by her side. Roberta was born in Stamford, CT to Dominic and Florence Simonelli on August 20, 1954. Her family moved to Miami, FL in 1959 where they owned and operated their family restaurant. This is where her love and passion for cooking began. Roberta was well-known for her delicious cooking and especially her very popular meatballs. While in Miami, Roberta met her husband of 25 years, Clifford "Smitty" Smith. They moved to Fort Myers in 1978. Roberta was a dedicated employee of the Florida Forest Service for over 30 years. She was a wonderful and loving dog mom to many pups over the years. She also found great pleasure in watching and following the Eagles of SW FL. What made her happiest was being a mom and a grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
