
RoseMary McVean, 90, of Fort Myers, Florida, previously of River Forest, Illinois, died on November 8,
2011 after a brief illness. She resided in River Forest for over 70 years and had attended Oak Park/River
Forest High School and Rosary College.
RoseMary was fondly remembered as a dedicated realtor and beloved friend to so many of her clients
from both the Bloor and Pilgrim Firms. Young in spirit, she continued to serve as a certified realtor in
Fort Myers until her recent illness.
She was often described as a fun-loving “classy and proper lady”, highly spirited and devout in her faith.
RoseMary served in diversecapacities including Eucharistic minister for decades at St. Luke”s Church on
Lake and Lathrop Avenue. Her passion for gardening andplanting award-winning roses won her an
Array of awards both in Chicago and Fort Myers. She had served as an officer and board member of the
Western Chicagoland Rose Society. Among her many avid interests included active membership in
Organizations such as the Symphony and Sea Shell Clubs.
RoseMary was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Della McVean and her devoted sister
Cecelia who died in 2009. There are no close family survivors, but a host of lifelong friends. A Memorial
Mass and reception were celebrated in Fort Myers on November 22. A follow up Memorial Service and
Interment will bee officiated by Deacon Terrance Norton of St. Luke’s parish on Saturday, December 10
At Queen of Heaven Chapel, 1400 South Wolf Road, Hillside, Illinois. Attendees will meet in the chapel
Office at 12 noon, followed by service in the chapel at 12:30 p.m.
