Ruth was born on December 9, 1913, and lived a long and remarkable life spanning more than a century of history, change, and cherished family moments. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Johnston, and her five siblings.
Ruth is survived by her loving nieces and nephews: Barbara Ann Bell, Laura (Randall) Bell Thompson, and James (Karen) Bell. She also leaves behind her great-niece and great-nephews: Michael (Judy) Smith, Douglas (Glenn) Blind, Pat Smith, and Susan (Huey) Mosley, who will remember her with deep affection and admiration.
An interment will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park in Fort Myers, Florida, where Ruth will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908 in honor of Ruth’s long life and enduring legacy of love and family.
