With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Salvatore J. Polizzi, who departed this life on September 17, 2025, at 82, after a long and courageous battle, but also a life filled with love and adventure.
Sal was born on December 24, 1942, and grew up in the Chambersburg section of Trenton, NJ. In 1965, Sal married the love of his life, MaryAnn Zampini, and had four beautiful children and four loving grandchildren, whom he cherished more than anything. Sal often jokingly said, “If I knew my grandkids were going to be this amazing, I would have had them first!”
Sal was a hard worker from a young age. He became a skilled butcher and owned a successful business in the food industry. He believed in hard work and instilled a strong work ethic in his children.
Sal’s love for the ocean made him an avid boater. His summers in LBI were some of the happiest times in his life.
His dream of living in Florida became a reality in 2015 when he and his wife retired to the West Coast of Florida.
In his retired years, cooking, gardening, and hanging out with Diesel, his beloved granddog, became his new passions.
Sal’s legacy is one of resilience, integrity, and love of God, family, and country. His adventurous spirit and enthusiasm will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Sal is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, MaryAnn (Zampini); his four children, Toni Kaloustian (Rob), Cathy Hasselbach (Steve), Vincent (fiancée Kelli), and Gina Carsia (Nick)-devoted grandfather to Nate, Ava, Adriana, and Sophia: his sister-in-law, Catherine DiBella (Michael). Sal is also survived by his loving and special aunt, affectionately known as his second mother, Aunt Blonde (Lucia Maruca). As well as nephew, Michael DiBella, a niece, Joanne Brady, and many dear cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Catherine Polizzi.
Services will take place in Florida and New Jersey. The first memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, at 2p.m. at the Corpus Christi Chapel, 5975 Golden Gate Parkway, Naples, Florida.
