

Shirley Reigle Hatter, age 85, of Fort Myers FL, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025. Shirley was born in Akron, NY on September 4, 1939, the daughter of John and Dorothy Reigle. She graduated from Akron High School and Alfred State College. It was there she met and married Edward Hatter. Jr., 66 years ago. Together they have two children, Deborah Jean Hatter of Campton, NH and Dr. Jeffrey E. Hatter (Karen) of Captiva Island, FL and Owasco Lake, NY. They have six Grandchildren; Amanda Vadala (Matt), Ryan Hodge (Rachael), Michael Sanborn (Karena), Nicholas Hatter, Nathaniel Hatter and Christine Slayton (Alexander). They Also have seven Great Grandchildren; Jacen, Lincoln, Gabriel, Levi, RJ, Roxy and Vincent.
While living in Cortland, NY, Shirley was active in many civic organizations, including Garden Club, Girl Scouts and Jayncees where she served in many State and Local offices. Shirley was an avid Bridge player at both her New York and Florida homes. She and Ed were world travelers, visiting over 50 countries. They also were avid boaters, navigating up and down the East and West coasts of Florida with both the "Royal Palm Yacht Club" and the "Southwest Florida Yacht Club".
For 30 years, Shirley was active in her husband Edward's businesses and worked with him in developing Briarwood Estates housing development in Homer, NY.
Friends and Family will meet at the Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home in Ft. Myers on March 6th, 2025 from 2-4 pm for exchange of conversation and memories.
