Vicky Schlichting French, age 73, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026. She was born September 26, 1952 in Foley, AL. Vicky graduated from Foley High School in Foley, Alabama and received her Bachelor’s degree in math from the University of Montevallo. She taught at Fairhope High School in Fairhope, Alabama as well as Estero High School and Lehigh Acres High School in Florida before she retired from teaching.
Vicky is survived by her loving husband, James W. French; stepchildren: Heather Hilderbrand and Walter French; step-grandson, Ryan Whitman; sister, Marilyn (Tom) Bolen and Kevin Schlichting; nieces and nephews: Stephanie (Doug) Brooks, Erica (Jonathan) Sumrall, Gwen (Marty) Kichler, Beau (Sissy), Paula (Philip) Taylor, Tara Cabanas, Henry Schlichting and David Schlichting. She also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews, cousins, close friends and neighbors.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Nolan Schlichting; sisters, Marie Wigstrom and Sharon Woerner and her niece Brenda Woerner Cook.
