Gertrude M Cross

Born in Hurleyville, NY she has been a resident of Fort Pierce, FL for the past 37 years, formerly of Loch Sheldrake, NY.

Prior to retirement, she worked for the United States Postal Service in Loch Sheldrake, NY for 27 years. Gertrude had been a 4-H Club Leader for 25 years in Liberty, NY; she was a member of the Crafty Ladies in the Bellaire community of Ft. Pierce and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She enjoyed crafts and crocheting.

Survivors include, husband of 69 years, Raymond P. Cross, of Fort Pierce, FL, daughters, Donna Rae LaPolt,(Robert) of, New Paltz, NY, Nancy Lee (Thomas) Saunders, of New Paltz, NY and Patricia Gail Halprin, of, Loch Sheldrake, NY , son, Raymond, Renno Cross, of Port St. Lucie, FL, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Roxane Lang and three brothers, Arthur, Adelbert and Leo Mentnech and great granddaughter, Gabriel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Royal Palm Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, 2180 10th Ave. Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce, FL at 1:00pm.
