John A Chilberg

John served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific theatre. He was an elder and member of First Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach. He was also a member of the Vero Beach Choral Society, and the Treasure Coast Chorale. As a lover of music, John liked to sing, play the piano and banjo.

John had a 30 year career in banking and retired as a vice president of Farm Credit Services headquartered in St. Paul MN.

John loved his wife of 68 years, Shirley, his family, his church, his God and his country. He believed that no man could have been more fortunate than he.

John is survived by his wife, Shirley, daughter, Stephanie Austin (Jeff); son, Steve Chilberg, (Brenda); sister, Carol Fitch (Jim); grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Scott and great grandchildren, Carrie, Sam, Austin, Evan and Eden.

Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church Music Program 520 Royal Palm Blvd Vero Beach, FL 32960.
