He was born in Syracuse, New York, resided in Cincinnati, Ohio and had been a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida since 2002.
John served in the US Navy for 4 years.
Prior to retirement John was a plant manager and ink salesman in the printing industry.
He loved boating, fishing and enjoying time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Murphy of Fort Pierce; sons, Brian Murphy and Todd Murphy and his grand-daughter, Sophia Murphy all of Fort Pierce, FL.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL.
