October 8, 1935 – December 9, 2025
Kenneth Leroy Pennell was born in Petoskey, Michigan, to Marshall and Daisy Pennell. He entered the presence of his Lord on December 9, 2025, passing peacefully in his sleep at his daughter’s home in Maryland after a long, full life.
Ken graduated from Trinity Bible College in Clearwater, Florida, and on September 9, 1954, married the love of his life, Clarice Ann Trulock. He was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel, beginning a ministry that would span more than six decades. He pastored multiple churches throughout his life and served as a missionary in Ecuador from 1969 to 1973.
For the last 30 years of his ministry, Ken faithfully shepherded Fort Pierce Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Fort Pierce, Florida before retiring at the age of 83. His calling to preach and teach the truth of God’s Word was the defining passion of his life, and countless people were shaped by his teaching, his wisdom, compassion, and unwavering devotion to Christ.
Ken and Ann raised five children:
Kenneth Pennell Jr., Franklin, TN
Steven Pennell, Fort Pierce, FL
Faith Moser, Marriottsville, MD
Marshall Pennell, Fort Pierce, FL
Daniel Pennell, Fort Pierce, FL
He is survived by Ann, his wife of 72 years, all five of their children, 12 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Ken and Ann also lovingly raised Ann’s younger brother, Robert Trulock, after he was orphaned at the age of nine.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Daisy, his three sisters, and by Robert (Bob) Trulock.
At different times in his life Ken was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, sailor, had wide interests and fascinating adventures. But those who knew him best will remember most his steadfast faith, his devotion to his wife and deep love for his family, and his lifelong desire to bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to understand and embrace the Word of God.
After a long full life, marked by ministry, family, and friendships, Ken went to be with his Lord on December 9, 2025, while asleep in his bed at his daughter’s home in Maryland.
His legacy of faith and love continues in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
