

Marie Russell, age 80, was born on September 6, 1944 in Camden, New Jersey and passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends, after fighting a long battle with kidney cancer, on April 5, 2025 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Marie, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend was a source of unwavering strength and kindness for all who knew her. She was known for having a heart of gold and seeing the best in everyone. She lived a life built on integrity—ALWAYS truthful, dependable, and trustworthy. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, playing BINGO, telling jokes and reminiscing about the good ole days, drinking beer, and going to the Jetty. Prior to retiring, Marie worked as a Cashier at Publix #385 in Vero Beach. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Debra Walker and son-in-law Anthony of Millville, NJ; son Ed Rainas and daughter-in-law Kimberly of Vineland, NJ; step son Robert Russell and daughter-in-law Sandy of Hamilton, NJ; her first born granddaughter, Rochelle Popp-Finch of Port St. Lucie, along with 13 other grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; companion Maurice “Mo” Lord of Vero Beach; and her best friend, partner in crime, and BINGO buddy, Doris Mew of Vero Beach.
Marie was predeceased by her parents; husband, Joseph Russell; daughter, Sharon Horan; sister, Trudy Carr; brothers Thomas and John Barton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to either the Inner Truth Project at www.innertruthproject.org OR Harmony Hope Stables at www.hhstables.org. These two local non-profits not only make a huge impact in the community and Marie’s family, but are organizations that she has proudly supported for years.
Marie will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
On Monday, April 14, 2025 at Aycock Funeral Home, there will be a visitation from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, a funeral service at 4:00 PM, with a reception to follow. Aycock Funeral Home, 6026 North US Highway 1, Fort Pierce, FL 34946.
