Vero Beach, FL - Robert Clayton Marrow, Sr., 96 years 11 months, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
Born in Staten Island, NY, he resided in New York then moved to Point Pleasant, NJ for 39yrs. Mr. Marrow's career spanned years in marketing for two prominent New York City insurance companies, Royal Globe and Cigna.
Active in his community, he also made time to volunteer as a Point Pleasant Fireman for 21 years. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Vero Beach, Florida to be with many of his friends from New York.
Mr. Marrow was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, a former usher and a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. From a young age, Mr. Marrow was a drummer who loved music and dancing. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing golf until he was 90. Also, as an avid sports fan, he followed baseball, basketball and hockey. Is Bingo a sport? Perhaps not, but if you ever played with him, you know he made it a competitive sport! He enjoyed working the Bingo at St. John of the Cross as a Knight, along with participating as often as he could aboard a cruise ship heading too just about anywhere. Cruises allowed him to indulge in one of his greatest joys: traveling the world with his wife, and later his daughter and friends.
Robert Clayton Marrow, Sr., son of Leonardo Marro and Ruth Parks Marrow was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy Ann Marrow. He is survived by three children. Robert Clayton, Jr. (Eileen) of Bloomingdale, Ohio, Susan Beth Marrow (Diane Pupa, as he would say, "my two daughters") of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Christopher Scott Marrow (Nancy) of Oakhurst, NJ along with 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A private Catholic Rite of Committal will be held at 2:15pm Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Ft. Pierce, FL.
