Robert Eugene Tougas

Robert was born in Charlestown, RI, he was the son of the late Edmond & Irene (Normandin) Tougas of East Greenwich, RI. He had been a resident of Vero Beach coming from Largo, FL where he had lived for 45 years.

Robert served in the United States Air Force. Graduated from Rhode Island School of Design ‘59. Robert’s career included being employed by Bostitch in RI, Honeywell Aerospace Division, Sperry Defense Electronic Systems and lastly for Marine Metal Products of Clearwater, FL as a Mechanical Engineer and Inventor. Robert was a Ham Radio Operator enthusiast, he enjoyed boating, RVing, feeding and caring for the homeless in Largo/Clearwater area. Robert was also a member of the American Legion and St. Jerome Catholic Church in Indian Rocks Beach, FL.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ann, of Vero Beach; Sister in law Alice and husband Tom Pare of E. Providence, RI. Sister in law Marion Collins of Smithfield, RI and nephew, Jeffrey Nolan, of Vero Beach, FL; 6 nieces and nephews, and 23 great nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Nolan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Friday, March 21, 2014 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL.
