

Ruth E.Kisling Karpf, 92, of Vero Beach passed away Tuesday December 20, 2011 at her residence. Born in Castana, Iowa she has been a resident of Vero Beach, FL for the past 31 years coming from Houston, TX.
Ruth was a United States Army Veteran (WAAC) serving during WW II. Prior to retirement she served as the secretary to the Chief of the Space Environmental Division at NASA in Houston, TX where she worked for 20 years. She was a 1950 graduate of Rutgers University in Newark, NJ.
Ruth met her late husband of 65 years, William, at the Fort Dix Military Hospital where she was a medical technician and he was a patient. They were married by the mayor of Trenton, NJ in 1945. While living in Vero Beach she volunteered for many years with the United Way. Ruth was of the Jewish Faith and a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach.
Ruth is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial contributions in Ruth’s memory may be made either to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (checks may be made out to UUFVB Endowment and mailed to 372 W. Temple Ct. SW, Vero Beach FL 32968 or to the United Way of Indian River County, 1836-14th Avenue, Vero Beach FL 32960.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 2-3 PM at Aycock Funeral Home, Ft. Pierce followed by celebration of life service at 3:00 PM officiated by Rev. Scott Alexander. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
