

Shirley was 88 years-old when she passed away surrounded by loved ones on 03/24/2024 in Fort Pierce, Florida. She was born in Bowling Green, Florida, and built a life around family and friends. Shirley was a Navy wife, a pharmacy technician, a substitute teacher, a member of the first graduating class of Dan McCarty High School in 1953, and a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She was an avid golfer and past ladies champion at Indian Hills Country Club, where she also served as a board member. She enjoyed travel, bowling, card games, crafts, and lunching with friends.
Shirley was best known for her kind and generous nature. She welcomed everyone into her fold and was the ultimate caregiver. She loved to care for her family, especially the children, who she watched for years, generation after generation. Shirley was the BEST WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, SISTER, AUNT, COUSIN, AND FRIEND anyone could ever ask for.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Genie Albritton; her brothers Joe Albritton and Glenn “Buddy” Albritton; and her sister, Eugenia Moore. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ralph Meyer; her children, Reena Villegas and Russ Meyer; her sister, Elsie Stratton; her grandchildren, Randy Roberson and Jennifer Roberson; her great-grandchildren, Peyton, Tyler, Liam and Cade Roberson; her extended, special family, John Hollinger, Kathy Hollinger, and David and Luann Vandevere; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held
on Thursday, March 28, 2024
from 6:00 to 8:00pm
at the Meyer family home
5939 Peterson Road
Fort Pierce, Florida 34947
Refreshments will be served and stories will be shared.
