

Tom was born in New Bedford, MA. and grew up on the island of Nantucket. He has been a resident of Port St. Lucie for the past 23 years coming from Wallingford CT.
He joined the US Navy during the Korean War serving on the Aircraft Carrier USS Tarawa. Prior to retirement Tom was the Vice President of Paul Dinto Electrical Contractors in Middlebury, Ct. After moving to Florida Tom became a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, The Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, all in Port St. Lucie, as well as the Irish American Club in Savannah Club Port St. Lucie and the IBEW local 99 in Providence, RI. Tom was an avid golfer, enjoyed cruising, and the occasional game of Black Jack.
He is survived by his loving family including Mary Young of Port St. Lucie, sons Thomas F. Towhill Jr. (Linda), of Hope Valley, RI; Steven Towhill (Patti) of Sandy Springs, GA: Paul J. Towhill of Coventry, RI; daughter Liz Duncan (Mike) of Port St. Lucie; Sal Springer of Southampton, MA grandchildren Kiki, Lisa (Jay), Jay Grant (Stephanie), Haylie, and Trevan (Amanda); great grandchildren Brooklyn, Jayden, Arisan, Liam, Jameson, and Sullivan. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Paula and a daughter Kathleen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie followed by military honors.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans Association or Treasure Coast Hospice @TChospice.com
