Winifred was born in the Bahamas and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 17 years coming from Evanston, IL.
Prior to retirement, Winifred worked in child care for 17 years in Vero Beach. She was a member of Bahamas Greater Chicago Bahamanian Organization.
She loved to read, sing and needlepoint. Winifred was a member of the Mt Zion AME Church in Vero Beach, FL.
She is survived by her daughters, Wendy Lee Dames, Heather Humes, both of Vero Beach, FL; son, Kenneth Allen Dames, of Chicago, IL; 7
grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Winifred was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dames. She was the last of 12 siblings.
A Visitation will be held 6:00-9:00pm on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00am
on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Mt Zion AME Church in Vero Beach, FL. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL.
