Dear Sonia and family. I was very sad to hear of Alan's passing. My parents Steve and Anne Ivan would tell you they are thinking of all of you at this time. They often spoke of Alan and his challenges and worried for you, Sonia. We would all like to express our sincere condolences.

I met Alan in hospital in Humboldt.  I immediately realized what a big  hearted, friendly person he was.  He had a lot to offer the world, it's too bad that we never got a chance to enjoy it.  My deepest sympathy to his friends and family.

Alan  came into our lives in 2005.  In the short time we have been lucky enough to know him, he has become part of our family and part of our hearts forever.  When we first met him, he was a tough, gruff big cowboy, and since then he has shown us his true colours of what a softy he really is on the inside!  He was a great friend for the last 9 years, even to my kids, who he laughed with and helped out often.  We can't ell you how much we will miss his visits, smiles and wonderful sense of humor.  Alan was a great friend and the whole family here extends our deepest sympathy to your family.  He will be missed by all, and leaves us here as better people because we knew him.

I am so very sorry to hear of Alan's passing.  It is so very difficult to watch a family member suffer and just as difficult to have a child and brother pass away.  Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.  I have fond memories of babysitting all of you kids and I am now remembering all the 'pranks' played on my while babysitting.
