It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl M. Olson of Lebret on April 10, 2013. Born in the Walpole district in 1937 he grew up on the farm and attended Bethany school. A large extended social unit occupied his youth with siblings, cousins and friends always by his side. He took over the family farm briefly but soon went on to other endeavors. As a truck driver, grain buyer, hotel owner, tool salesman, CAA rep. and in his retirement as Mayor of the Village of Lebret he knew many good people throughout the province. His love of music with the Olson Orchestra along with card games, curling, golf and in later years gardening kept him always on the go. Carl is survived by his wife Bernice, his children Darren (Kathy) Olson of Wawota and Shelley (Max) Krecsy of Kipling and his step-children Lee (Heather) Thoms, Terry (Deanna) and Jamie all of Calgary. He was also survived by grandchildren Kris (Jen) Olson of Assiniboia, Matt (Mallory) Olson of Estevan and Mackenzie Krecsy of Kipling. As well as five step-grand children, great-grandchild Hope Olson and two step-great grand children. Along with Sister Joan (Fred Steele) Forbes and brothers Con (Bernice) Olson of Regina and Keith (Myrna) Olson of Wawota. He was predeceased by his parents Clifford in 1980 and Irma in 1999, along with sister Freda in 2006. Cremation with a family graveside service being held at the Walpole cemetery at a later date. Arrangements in care of Tubman Cremation and Funeral Services
