Emma Ann Tank was born Sunday, November 21, 1915 South West of Melville, SK., to Charles and Christina (Miller) Meyer. Emma received her schooling at the Pearl Creek School. On June 19, 1932, she married Ernest Tank. For a short time, they lived in the Melville area then moved to Balcarres where Ernest was a Watkins dealer. Emma travelled with him for many years. They lived in Balcarres for more than 70 years. Emma loved her garden and flowers, especially her sweet Williams. Her favorite colors were mauve and pink. In her younger years, she loved to curl and square dance. She loved music, especially when her nephew Gordon entertained. Due to her health, Emma moved to the Balcarres Senior Unit for 6 years, then to the Balcarres Extended Care Home, eventually becoming a resident of Echo Lodge, Fort Qu’Appelle. Emma was predeceased by her husband Ernest; parents Charles and Christina Meyer; sisters and their husbands Ella (Jacob) Steffen and Martha (Henry) Steffen; nephews Arthur Steffen, Elmer Keller and niece Emily Steffen. Left to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews: Eleanor Keller, Winnie (Richard) Miller, Shirley (Jack) Howard, Gordon Steffen, Reinhold Steffen, Lily Peterson and Violet (Amos) Avery. Emma is also survived by numerous more nieces and nephews as well as relatives from the Tank family. The family would like to thank everyone for attending the funeral service. Thanks also to Pastor Kim, the funeral home, and Echo Lodge for the excellent care Emma received, and to Betty and the Golden Age Recreation Center for providing the lunch.
