He was predeceased by his grandfather Allan Hawes.
Trea is survived by many who will cherish his memory including: his daughter's Dollsay Keepness-Star and Nadia Keepness-Star, and their mother Britney Star; Trea's son Tyrese Keepness-Lavelle and his son's mother Angel Lavelle. Trea's parents Dodi Keepness and Rick Hawes (Wendy); grandmothers Denise Keepness and Loreen Murdock; great-grandmother Isabelle Keepness and siblings: Tyra Hawes (Rylan), Abby Hawes (Damian), Andrew Hawes (Pattie) and Morgan Hawes.
Trea's service was held in the Muscowpetung Educational Center Gym, Muscowpetung First Nation on Monday, May 20, 2024. A visitation began at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service began at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Edmund Jordan officiating, followed by a Lunch. The interment was in the Keepness Family Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
