It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Hillis Rice, on April 4, 2013 at Lamont Health Care Centre, at the age of 85 years. Hillis grew up in Ardrossan and later farmed for many years in the Warspite area. He is survived by his brother, Lyall (Gwen) Rice; sister, Ruth (Reg) Underhill; and sister, Frances Jackman; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Hillis is predeceased by his parents, Mary and Dwight Rice.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday April 11, 2013, at 11:00 am at First Memorial Riverview Chapel, 11090 – 86 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan. Donations in Hillis’ memory gratefully accepted directly to the Lamont Health Care Centre, 5216 53 Street, Lamont, AB T0B 2R0.
