It is with heavy hearts that the family announces Phyllis’s passing on August 3rd, 2023 at 87 years of age.
Phyllis will be forever lovingly remembered by her husband of 66 years, LeRoy; daughter, Debbie (Kevin Hortness); daughter-in-law Jackie; grandchildren, Daniel Richer (Miranda), Jennifer Stinchcombe (Scott), Barry Walters (Ranu), Steven Walters; and her 6 great grandchildren Mia and Avery St. Amant, Owen and Nate Richer, Eliza Stinchcombe, and Zoey Walters. Phyllis was predeceased by her son, Dennis Walters; her parents, Sophie and Lionel Nelson, and her 3 brothers, Clarence, Leo, and Richard (Dick) Nelson.
She cherished family and was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed nature, camping, travel, golf, and countless card games. Her virtues were many; caring, kind, patient and easy going to name a few, and as such she was respected and loved by all who knew her. We will miss her greatly.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Fort Saskatchewan Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 at 1:30pm at First Memorial Funeral Service, Riverview Chapel 11090 86 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan.
