Bill has bid his final "Cheerio"
Bill passed away peacefully on November 10, 2017 at the age of 93 years, with his wife by his side.
Left with an abundance of wonderful memories are his wife, Shirley; his children: Gord Lendrum; Bob and Annette Lendrum (Bill and Gayle, Angie and Bryan, great-grandsons Blake and Reid); Anne and Don Boisjoli (Jen and Paul, Peter and Geraldine, great-granddaughter Grace).
Bill was born and raised in Cobalt, Ontario, a place that remained special to him always. After mining school and a short stint in the RCAF, he moved his young family to Fort Saskatchewan in 1953, for the start-up of the Sherritt Gordon plant. After 35 years he retired to enjoy his diverse interests. He and Shirley travelled extensively and he volunteered a number of years at Pioneer House.
Bill was well known for his quick wit and wonderfully dry sense of humour. He loved his family and cherished his wife every day of their 67 years together.
The family would like to thank the caring and thoughtful staff at Rivercrest Care Center.
At Bill's request there will be a family celebration. We will be raising a glass to a very special man; we hope you will, too. Donations to your favourite charity would be greatly appreciated.
