

Agatha “Aggie” Ann Ahlert, 99 of Fort Smith, Arkansas, entered into the gates of heaven on April 19, 2016. Aggie was born July 24, 1916 to the late Otto and Catherine Floren in Subiaco, Arkansas. Aggie was the sixth of seven children and all preceded her in death.
Aggie was married to the late George Henry Ahlert for 60 years who passed to the holy gates on March 13, 2000. Both were parents to three devoted sons; Gene, Jimmy, and Larry.
Aggie started her nursing career later in life after raising her three children at St. Edwards Hospital. She continued her career for over 20 years and shared her love of life and caring compassion with many patients and family. She continued her nursing career until the age of 72.
Aggie touched every life she came in contact with, especially her children; Eugene and Mary Ahlert of Ft. Smith, Jim and Sandy Ahlert of Subiaco, Arkansas, and Larry and Judy Ahlert of Ft. Smith. Aggie left behind nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild, plus three on the way, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Aggie loved to cook for family and friends. Until the age of 96 she continued to drive to her favorite spots of which were Wal-Mart, Dillards, and Penney’s to check out the latest fashions.
Her Rosary will be held at Fentress Mortuary Chapel at 7:00 PM Friday, April 22, 2016. Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2016, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Ahlert, Brian Ahlert, Barry Ahlert, Leo Sharum, Chris Schluterman, and Tony Galier.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Boniface Catholic School 201 North 19th Ft. Smith, AR 72901.
