Alice Pearson Koon

Alice Pearson Koon, 77, of Fort Smith, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, in Fort Smith. She was born September 24, 1935 in Fort Smith to the late William O. and Mabel I. Thompson Pearson. She was retired Staff Nurse from Area Agency on Aging and retired Major from the United States Air Force. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and a past member of Altrusa International. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Brewer officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband of 43 years Bruce Koon, one daughter K. D. Koon of Fort Smith, one stepdaughter Marcia C. Koon of Chicago, IL, one stepson Robert B. Koon II and wife Jean of Chicago, IL and one granddaughter Kelsey Koon. Pallbearers will be Skip Vincent, Paul Morris, Steven Fowlkes, Bill Robertson, Bob Robertson and Greg Lentz. The family will visit with friends Monday evening, July 22, 2013, from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
