

Barbara L. Westmoreland, 75 of Fort Smith, went to be with Jesus and her mama on Thursday, April 30, 2026. She was born on August 4, 1950. She is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Joe and Betty Deason, her father, Harold Burdick and many other family members.
Barbara is survived by her husband Robert Westmoreland; two daughters Bridgett Wolfrum and Paula McGrew (Loran), son David Williams (Jill); grandchildren, Jonna Childers, Mikia Childers, Robert Elliott, Ryan Elliot, Kayla Releford and Bailey Williams, brother Steven Burdick, and a slew of great grandchildren who all loved her dearly.
Barbara worked as a jailer at the Crawford and Sebastian County Sheriff’s Department for many years. She then moved to Sparks Hospital working in ER and then as an operator, whereafter she retired.
Barbara enjoyed dancing and she was pretty good at it. Late in life she met Bob, who soon became her best friend and partner in life. It was a whirlwind romance; they met and married shortly after and went on cruise after cruise and had a wonderful life together.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 pm. Private inurnment of ashes will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
