Bernard E. Martin

Bernard E. Martin, 91 of Van Buren died Monday, January 14, 2013 in Van Buren. He was born May 20, 1921 in Fort Smith to the late William and Dovie Martin. He was a member of Spradling Baptist Church and a retired Plumber. He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Martin, three sons: Buddy, Jack, and Larry Martin, his three sisters: Louise Bland, Billie Mae Ready, Rosalie Head, and his four brothers: Joe, Ralph, Jules “Tiny”, and Johnny Martin. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2013 at Spradling Baptist Church with burial to follow at Barling Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

He is survived by two daughters: Geraldine Falleur of Muldrow, and Susan Preston of Fort Smith; two sons: William (Bill) Martin of Greenwood and Jonathan Martin of Barling. He is also survived by 19 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great, great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joe Pat Falleur, Mark Falleur, Brunchel Gilstrap, Brett Gilstrap, Zachary Meadows, and Frederick Ready.
