

Betty Jo Ingram Jaber, 85, passed away September 15, 2012. She was born December 14, 1926 in Alma, AR to Marie Virglin (Graham) and Roy Redding Ingram, and spent most of her life in Fort Smith. She was a 1949 graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Betty Jo married Maurice Stone “Buddy” Jaber on March 26, 1948, Good Friday, in Fort Smith.
Her family, many friends, and her church became her life. She was a substitute teacher prior to entering local politics and served as Sebastian County Clerk for twenty years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Gleaners Sunday School class, Democratic Woman’s Club, Democratic Central Committee, and the Woman’s League of Voters.
She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice “Buddy” Jaber and her parents, Marie and Roy Ingram.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Elizabeth Ball of Fayetteville, AR; two sons, Maurice “Reece” Jaber and his wife Marcy of Fort Smith, and Randall Kade Jaber of Fayetteville; one sister, Mary Ann Dickson of Tulsa, OK; one brother, Dr. Ralph Nelson Ingram of Fort Smith. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 19, 2012, in Roebuck Chapel at First United Methodist Church, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will visit with friends following the service in the church narthex.
Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons; Christopher, Nicholas, and Andrew Jaber, Tate Young, Benjamin Ball, and Kade Jaber.
