

Betty Jo Martin Wilkerson, 91, of Fort Smith, died January 17, 2013 in Fort Smith. She was born December 31, 1921 in Hackett, Arkansas to Edward W. and Maud Benoit Martin. She was a homemaker and Charter Member of Haven Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Frankie and husband Glen Turner of Fort Smith and Donna Brown of Bella Vista, AR; seven grandchildren: Derek & Dr. Shannon Turner of Little Rock, AR., Jolee & Lt. Col. Matt Rowland of Las Vegas, NV., Terri Turner of Los Angeles, CA., Fanya & Travis Scantling of Bentonville, AR., Ryan Brown of Alma, AR., Ginger & Aaron Lawson of Bentonville, AR., and Crystal & 1st Lt. Billy Lewis of El Paso , TX., and eleven great grandchildren; and four sister-in-laws, Laverne McCorkle, Berneice Dyer, and Sue Dobbs all of Greenwood, and Betty Bass Wilkerson of Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Billie Franklin Wilkerson and son-in-law Glenn Brown. Funeral service will be Monday, January 21, 2013 at 10:30 AM in Haven Heights Baptist Church with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Derek Turner, Ryan Brown, Travis Scantling, and Aaron Lawson. The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
