Billy Joe Henry

Billy Joe Henry, 83, of Pocola, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday March 22, 2015. He was born November 7, 1931 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a retired minister from First Baptist Church in Roland, Oklahoma. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Roland, Oklahoma and a Baptist Missionary in Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Funeral service will be 11:30 AM Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Roland, Oklahoma with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Lou Ellen Henry, daughter Deborah Wood of Roland, OK, son William Robert Henry, brothers Jerry Henry of Fort Smith and Benny Henry of Arkoma and one grandchild. Pallbearers will be Terry Watkins, Mickey Watkins, Eddie Hicks, Casey Hicks, David Owens and Adam Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Monte Wood, Dennis Wood and Tony Henry. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 PM-6:30 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 203 Carson Road, Roland, Oklahoma 74954.
