Carl W. Grizzle, 91, of Van Buren, Arkansas passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 in Van Buren. He was born November 7, 1926. He was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he started several successful business ventures in the tire and automotive industry, real estate, livestock, auctioneering, and training record setting bird dogs. Gardening and selling crops was one of his favorite past times.
He was actively involved in his church as a deacon and song leader. His many friends and family knew him for his smile and gentle spirit. God and family were his top priorities. More than anything, he wanted to see all of his family attending church and meeting him in Heaven one day.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Oga Grizzle; three children, Steve Grizzle and wife Kay of Muldrow, OK, Ron Grizzle and wife Carol of Mary Esther, FL, and Janelle Webb and husband David of Fort Smith, AR; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at First Assembly of God Church in Van Buren with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, AR. Services entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, AR.
