

Carol Jane Klein, a woman whose vibrant spirit, love for family, and unwavering faith touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on March 21, 1945, to the late Robbie and Thomas M. Land. Carol was the beloved wife of Dr. Daniel B. Klein for 39 wonderful years.
A true southern belle with an adventurous heart, Carol was a graduate of Northside High School in Fort Smith. She possessed a dynamic personality and truly never met a stranger, welcoming everyone she encountered with warmth and kindness.
Her professional career included dedicated service to her country, working for the U.S. government as an executive assistant in both Wiesbaden, Germany, and later in Rancho Cordova, California.
Her passion for life was reflected in her many talents. She was a gifted individual who loved to paint and decorate, always bringing beauty to her surroundings. She was also a truly wonderful cook, with a legendary ability to bring people together around a delicious meal.
Above all else, Carol cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Daniel B. Klein; her loving sister, Gloria Crouse, and her husband, Steve Crouse; and her two sons and their wives: Jeff Solomon and his wife, Beth, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Mark Solomon and his wife, Trudy, of Surf City, North Carolina.
Her greatest joy was her role as "Momo" to her five beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life: Hannah, Wesley, Gabby, Caroline, and Aubrey.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Carol loved the Lord. She shared her beautiful voice and love for music as a cherished member of the choir at both First Baptist Church and Harvest Time Tabernacle in Fort Smith.
Carol’s legacy of love, faith, and vitality will live on through her family and all the countless friends she made throughout her remarkable life.
A visitation and memorial service will be held to honor Carol's life. Family will greet friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with the memorial service starting at 1:00 pm. Inurnment of ashes will follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
