

Charlene Iske Lane, 81, passed away March 31, 2013. She was born October 17, 1931 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late August Peter Iske and Viola Myrtle (Wilson) Iske. Charlene was retired from the Fort Smith Public Schools and she was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Discussion Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Robert Lane.
She is survived by one daughter, Vicki Lane Chamlee of Fort Smith; one sister, Shirley Wilkie of Bethany, OK; three grandchildren, Michael Dennis of Hot Springs, AR, Benjamin Dennis of Alexandria, VA, Emily Lane of Charleston, SC; and one great-grandson, Zachary Dennis of Hot Springs; and several nieces and nephews. Charlene is also survived by her favorite dance partner and best friend, George Chamblee Jr. of Georgetown, TX.
Charlene’s family would like to give a special Thank You to Debra Swaim for her loving care the past few months.
Memorial Service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 5, 2013 in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Discussion Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the Narthex at First United Methodist Church.
Cremation and services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
