

Charlie Baker, 69, of Fort Smith, passed from this life April 17, 2014 in Fort Smith. He was born June 9, 1944, in Fort Smith, to the late Leonard and Velva Rozell Baker. Charlie had worked for D & D Floor Covering, was a member of Cavanaugh Freewill Baptist Church and was a member at Fort Chaffee Golf Course.
Charlie will be missed by his church family, Bible study group, all his golfing buddies, the girls at MediSav and all the people he worked for over the years. He loved his kids and his grandsons, Gage Baker and Tanner Graham. Charlie didn’t like cats, but loved Boots and Meanie. He liked riding his motorcycle; said God talked to him and let him know everything would be okay. He recently got to spend time with his sons at a NASCAR race in Phoenix. Charlie liked golf, but the main thing was his buddies.
He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Kay; his daughter, Monica Graham of Lavaca; his two sons, Wayne and Darren Baker, both of West Chester, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Earlene Crocker of Fort Smith and Ann Finch of Van Buren; two brothers, Kenneth Baker of Rockford, Minnesota and Donnie Baker of Spiro, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, April 21, 2014 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Cemetery. The family will visit with friends, before and after the service, at Edwards Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Bartlett, Donnie Dean, Tony Jones, Ashley Peterson, Rich Bumgarner.
