David Richard Ridilla

David “Dave” Richard Ridilla departed this life on September 16th, 2022 at the age of 64. He was born in Plains Township, Pennsylvania to Albert and Margaret Jeanne Ridilla. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Faye Ridilla, of Cedarville, AR; his brother Albert Ridilla, and wife Kathleen, of Los Angeles, CA; his children Pete Ridilla and wife, Kathryn, of Sand Springs, and Elizabeth Chittenden and husband, Clay, of Tulsa and his 3 beloved grandchildren, Pierson Chittenden, Berkeley Chittenden, and Lily Ridilla.

Dave was a wonderful husband, father, and “Hoss”, his grandpa name. Going on outdoor adventures with his wife was his favorite thing in the world. They made lots of wonderful memories hiking, kayaking, and riding gravel bikes off the beaten path. He was always mindful of the natural world and insisted on leaving it better than he found it. It was not unusual to find him picking up litter in their favorite parks or the national forest near their home.

Dave was a chef by trade, and he enjoyed cooking and sharing many meals with family and friends. He was also an avid outdoorsman who spent many weekends camping with his family. Dave’s campfire always drew a crowd. You could count on a good meal, friends, and lots of laughs. He enjoyed sharing his passion for the outdoors and was happy to teach others those skills.

Dave was a former competitive mountain biker and passed the joy of riding on to his children and grandchildren. All of the Ridilla family raced bikes competitively throughout the years. They made many life-long friends cheering on each other at races. Dave could always be counted on to help anyone with handing off a water bottle or quick tire change when needed. His gentle spirit and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

While the time we had with him was too short, it was full of great love and memories that will be cherished forever. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Celebration of life is a Memorial Bike Ride and Hike at Turkey Mountain Wilderness in Tulsa, Oklahoma on 9/23/2022 at 5pm.
